Sara and I love this saying found at Lizz the Librarian. We {heart} a good book, but most of all a book review that leads us in the right direction. With little time and oh so many choices out there, we sometimes find ourselves lost in choosing our next novel. Thankfully, we know someone who can help our readers and us too! Kim at Book Reader Chronicles has a wonderful book review that details one of the hottest series out since Twilight. If you need a book or two to read here is the perfect series to get into. {weekend} lovelies

:: Weekend Lovelies ::

I have to be honest; Halloween is one of my favorite holidays….so this {weekend} lovelies is devoted to this fall favorite! I don’t know if it is the simple fact that you can be anything you want to be on this magical night, or that I myself like to be scared. In fact, my sisters and I would often get my Grandma to rent us scary movies as she liked them, too! Maybe Halloween’s mystery brings out the kid in all of us, especially those of us who have grown up loving ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.’ Perhaps it makes us want to hold tight to those memories and share the fun with our children! It’s {simply} Our One Year Blogiversary!

It’s hard to believe… but it’s been ONE YEAR since we created and started blogging on Simply Happenstance! To celebrate, we had our talented friend and sorority sister, Candace Rock, take our photos!

We’ve learned so much over the past year… in fact, I think we both deserve honorary degrees in Technology and Social Media! There have been many highs and lows on this journey… but all-in-all, we are both so grateful for our site, for our loyal readers, for everyone we’ve met through social media, and most of all, for having each other to lean on throughout the past year. We’ve both driven our husbands completely crazy with late nights on the computer, tech lingo, and blog talk…. but, they’ve both been our biggest fans and sources of support! We can’t forget about our moms who seriously “like” all that we do and post on Facebook! Ha! Somedays… we think they may be the only two reading what we have written! {Thanks, P & P!}

We are very excited for what the future holds for {simply}. We now have advertising through BlogHer and Google, we’ve written two articles for a local magazine…. and have even worked with a few big brands! We are hopeful that with continued hard work, we will be able to encourage other moms and engrain a message for women to take time for themselves daily to do what they love and are passionate about. Hopefully our site brings smiles, laughs, a focus on the positive, and the lovely things in life. All too often, we get stuck in negativity, comparing ourselves to others, and only looking to the future to bring happiness instead of living in the ‘now.’ We both strive to keep things simple in our families, and to become more and more present with our children. We hope that message gets across in our online journaling.

We really hope that you will continue to stick by us on this journey. We adore your comments, feedback, and support! Words simply can’t express our gratitude for you reading our blog!

:: {Weekend} Lovelies ::

It’s a beautiful weekend to enjoy our favorite {weekend} lovelies. These darling finds are special to us, as like all of our picks. They are recipes we would love to try, places to go, and all-in-all just simply darling finds that we would love to have! This picture above is the perfect reflection of something we all can do! Just take a little time out for ourselves to enjoy… yoga! Sara and I love it! We find there is not enough time for it, but need it to just “be” in order to let go. We adore it so much that we have a whole Pinterest Board devoted to it. It seems like a simple resolution to add into the day, but sometimes it gets put on the back burner {such is life}, but health wise, it can help to make life a bit less stressful. Our friend, Brooke over at Holy Yoga OC, has found the perfect combination of creating “mommy moments” and spirituality with her yoga classes that create mind, body, and spirit with God’s word. This is one of our {weekend} lovelies that we hope you’ll check out.
