:: GRAPEFRUIT MARGARITAS ::

I am feeling like it is a Grapefruit Margarita kind of a Monday! There are two reasons to make these refreshing margaritas.  Number 1 it is Sara’s birthday today, so we must of course cheers to that! Happy birthday sweet friend Simply could not happen without you! Number 2, Ay ya ya!, it’s Cinco de Mayo this weekend. So break out your Margie glasses and put on some mariachi music, and let’s make a pitcher!

These margaritas are both beautiful and refreshing to drink. They are the perfect amount of sweet and sour, making this a must have summer time drink.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 juicy grapefruits-juiced
  • 6 limes juiced
  • 1-1 1/2 cups of silver tequila
  • 1 cup of Trader Joe's margarita mix
  • Kosher salt
  • Agave syrup or stevia
  • {For non alcoholic version}
  • *all of the above minus the tequila plus....
  • Sparkling lime water skinny version
  • Sparkling lemonade love the trader joe's version

Instructions

  • Juice limes and grapefruits and pour into a pitcher
  • Pour one cup of trader joe's margarita mix into the pitcher
  • Add in a packet of stevia and or a tablespoon of agave
  • Pour in one cup or 1 1/2 cups of tequila depending on the amount of juice you have.
  • Mix with a spoon.
  • {taste this part, add more sweetener if needed as grapefruits are tart}
  • Then rim a glass with salt and a cup 1/2 cup of crushed ice and enjoy!
  • {to make this skinny only put in 4 oz. of juice (with tequila in it already) + 4 oz. sparkling water}.
  • *FOR NON ALCOHOLIC VERSION*
  • Replace the tequila with 4-8 oz. of sparkling lime water or lemonade.

Notes

Easy swap outs make this recipe lighter or non alcoholic. I love making these all summer LONG. I prefer organic grapefruit and limes as they seem to contain more juice.
