We are celebrating! Well kind of…it’s been a long week and we have been gone FAR too long from our little space, but really I am celebrating with this Blood Orange and Raspberry Sparkler because I made it through a short juice cleanse.

Honestly we are happy to share our favorite foods and family moments, but at the moment life seems a bit busy. I think most of you can attest to that. How did we go from the holidays to mid February? It can only mean one more thing, it’s another HOLIDAY!

This pretty pink cocktail has a few ingredients but it makes for a fun at home celebration special. But should you be one of those couples that does plan ahead and make dinner reservations, we recommend making this beverage as a pre-dinner toast. Cucumber Mint Green Juice

March 17, 2015

First off, HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY, friends! To be completely honest, I was posting this green juice today — without thought of the holiday! How perfectly fitting! (I love when that happens!) Now on to the recipe!

Green Juice cucumber + mint {simply happenstance}Cucumber Mint Green Juice //

A few months ago, I bought my first juicer (after watching the fabulous documentary… Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead). I did my online research, as I wanted a juicer that got the job done well, without a huge mess to clean up afterwards. I also didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on my first one (in case my new found obsession became short lived). I ended up purchasing the Breville Compact Juice Fountain, after reading some excellent reviews. (For sure do some price comparison shopping because I found a site that offered 10% off your first purchase + free shipping, so I only spent around $85! I think I got a huge bargain!) I am happy to report that I’ve been using my juicer a few times per week ever since it arrived!

I put a lot of consideration into whether or not I should post a ‘juicing’ recipe on here, as I understand owning a juicer is somewhat of a luxury. For those of you that already own one… this is a delicious green juice recipe to add to your mix. For those of you that are considering a juicer… I say GO FOR IT! (It is such an excellent way to add fruits and vegetables into your diet!) For those of you wondering why you may want to juice, check out this lovely post on the site, Simple Green Smoothies, for information on the difference between juicing and blending. What I personally love most about juicing, is the instant boost of energy I feel after drinking a glass! It really helps in the afternoon when I am in the mid-day slump (which for me, is around 3 p.m. when the kids come home from school).  [Read more…]

Simple Sangria Recipe

August 26, 2014

This Simple Sangria Recipe really is that simple. Perfect for end of summer parties and great for Game Day!:: Simple Sangria Recipe ::

This Simple Sangria Recipe has a fun story.  In September I will be celebrating my 11th wedding anniversary! My hubby and I got married at a winery.  We both love and enjoy wine. I learned how to make this Simple Sangria Recipe after we had a tasting at the winery in which we wed.  They had a band playing on a warm Sunday afternoon and large vats of Sangria on hand for those customers tasting wine.  It was delicious and it seemed fairly easy to make from what the wine employees had said. {Mind you I wrote down what I thought went in this Sangria on a napkin}.  A little of this and a little of that and a bunch of fruit that sits over night.  The perfect Sangria for Game Days when you are celebrating a good win with friends. 4th of July Spritzer

June 17, 2013

** 4th of July Spritzer **

Summer is here and it’s time to “Cheers” to sunny beach days and barbeques. One of my favorite parts of summer is entertaining outdoors. Whether it’s a neighborhood gathering or friends over for a summer soiree… {okay so maybe the summer soiree really isn’t happening with kids running around, but I would like to imagine it is}.

What we do have in our community are concerts in the park and a big 4th of July celebration! It’s during these summertime occasions that a celebratory drink recipe is needed to cheers the events at hand. A few years ago, I found a tasty fruitful libation while watching Martha Stewart.  The recipe that can be found {here}, has a few steps in arranging the beautiful patriotic cocktail. It is a yummy drink that I love and it’s made with Champagne, but it’s one that I have to have the time to make. I came up with this super easy red, white, and blue themed drink. It’s simple, yet refreshing and can be made with or without alcohol.
