I don’t know about you… but I’m about ready to skip Spring and move straight onto Summer! I’ve honestly had to pray each day this week that God would bless me with the simple ability to FOCUS! {I’ve sort of diagnosed myself with Adult ADD at this point because my brain seems scattered in all directions, running a million miles a minute!} Homeschooling my little ones hasn’t helped my self-diagnosed condition any.  {Ha!} Having the responsibility of teaching three different grade levels with a toddler running around, hasn’t been the easiest for me to juggle this year. Although the kids all are progressing and appear to be doing great with our homeschool journey… I’m feeling a bit checked out and ready for Summer to begin! Are any of you with me?!  [Read more…]

Weekend Lovelies {favorite things}

Hey, hey… happy weekend, friends! Nicole and I hope that you all have had a fabulous week! We’ve been keeping busy with our little ones! In addition to the normal weekly activities, both of our families have set aside time for beach days. Fortunately, we were able to soak up the sunshine before it became overcast and a bit cooler here in Southern California. We know much of the country has literally been freezing! If that’s you… we sincerely hope you’ve been able to stay warm, and have had lots of opportunities to cozy-up to those you adore most!

Happy Saturday! Nicole and I hope that you all have had a wonderful week! Any exciting plans this weekend? Since we have a firefighter schedule to work around, our family took a day {yesterday} to enjoy the beach! It was much needed {the quality family time, and the sunshine}! This weekend I’m hoping to catch up on the relentless pile of laundry, and get a little more organized. I tell myself every weekend that I am going to give my school room some of my undivided attention {so that I can plan some educational projects, and organize my teaching materials}. Unfortunately… it never seems to happen! {I’m wondering when you other homeschool mamas find time to plan and prepare for the weeks ahead. If you have any tips… I’d personally love to hear them!}

On a different note, you may have noticed that our Lovelies has been revamped! We are now including a link-up for all of you fabulously talented bloggers and Etsy Shop owners! We would love {love, love, love}, and appreciate you spreading the word, and linking up your favorite recent blog post to share with our readers! So this is it! Christmas is in just a few short days! By now… you are all most likely prepared for family gatherings and gift giving. In case you’re not… here are a few more ideas! There’s a couple recipes, some DIY gifts, and some style inspiration. To top it off, we found a fun stamp project to do with your kids over Winter Break!

Nicole and I have decided to take next week off from the blog so that we can truly focus on spending time with our families. We are hoping to soak up this special time by baking with our children, listening to Christmas music, enjoying our recent snowfall {in the mountains}, spending some cuddle time with our husbands, and catching up with friends and family. Couldn’t you just get lost on Pinterest for hours, upon hours, this time of year? There are so many amazing craft ideas, gift guides, comforting recipes, and darling fashion finds! Much of this edition of lovelies have come from my time perusing Pinterest this week. Of course, all links are also inspired by the holidays… I hope that you enjoy!

So… we are expecting lots of snow today {yippee}! Like much of the US… it is cold and icy here in the Southern California mountains! We are hoping to stay cozy by the fire, enjoying board games, sipping warm drinks, and doing art projects while my handsome husby is away at work. I’m planning on an easy, yet delicious crock pot roast to fill our home with delicious smells throughout the day! What are you up to this weekend? Hopefully you have some family time planned and are able to take some time for yourself doing something you love!
