Happy weekend, friends! I don’t know about you…. but our weather here in the SoCal mountains is finally starting to resemble FALL! I couldn’t be more excited! It’s so funny how only a couple of months ago, Nicole and I were both enthusiastically awaiting warm, carefree summer days… and now our minds have completely made the switch to Autumn. We are currently daydreaming of crisp weather, fallen leaves, cinnamon, cozy sweaters, apple cider, full moons, pumpkin carvings, boots, warm crackling fires, cuddling close, autumn colors, scarecrows, salted caramel hot chocolates, wool blankets, football season, baked treats, thankfulness, visits with friends & family, hay rides, snug scarves, candy corn, costumes, pumpkin spice lattes, harvest festivals, weekend naps, movie nights, caramel apples, corn mazes & good books! Oh Fall… how we love thee!

It’s still scorching hot in Southern Califonia… but we can dream! With this edition of Lovelies we are welcoming Fall with open arms and happy, eager hearts! Enjoy & let us know what you are most excited for in the coming season! {xo}

Inspiring Family Documentary // Wildflowers Photography Blog

I can’t say enough about this inspirational family! I am completely reeled into their sweet life on the road!  A couple of weeks ago I shared with you their blog and journey as a family of six {view lovelies here}…. Since then, I’ve kept up with their travels through Joy’s blog and candid Instagram feed. Her photographs take my breath away. They truly tell a story. Who doesn’t love Jack? He’s one of our faves… for yoga, car rides, or just a mellow day at home with the family.  His new album, From Here to Now to You, comes out this September.  We’re excited!

We’ve seen a photo or two of this tiny house pinned from time-to-time, but never before had we viewed all the photos of this inspirational house all in one place.  When we found it, we knew we needed to share it with you.  It just goes to show that the dreamiest of spaces doesn’t have to be large… just beautifully designed and functional.  It’s complete design {love}!

DIY: Paint a Chevron Striped Wall

 

:: DIY TUTORIAL | PAINT A CHEVRON STRIPED WALL ::

When we decided to put our two youngest {Sophia & Finn} in a room together… we knew we had to re-paint to make it suitable for both of them. Since I’m obsessed with the color gray {and it’s gender neutral}, we chose to paint three of the walls in a solid gray, and paint a chevron stripe pattern on the fourth wall to make things a bit more lively {admittedly… Miss Blue was slightly traumatized over the gray, and did refuse to sleep there until we told her she could paint her next room bright pink}!

Lucky for me…. all I had to do was ask my sweet Husby if he’d do it, and of course….he said YES! He is super handy and much more of a perfectionist when it comes to things like this. I am a little more book smart, so I used my talents to research the best method {and supervised the rest of the process, as any good wife would do}! The taping was a little intense… but most people probably won’t have their levels and yard sticks out measuring and re-measuring the way we did!
