It’s Christmas time and boy do I absolutely LOVE a fun holiday drink! This Christmas Cranberry Spritzer is a new favorite. Made with St. Germain, a little bubbly {champagne/sparkling wine}, a splash of cranberry juice, and a dash of blood orange vodka. This drink is definitely something to say “Cheers” to.
Lately, when Shane and I have had a moment to go out to dinner, we have noticed that the cocktail menus in most restaurants are creating libations with St. Germain. It is a flowery liqueur that when combined in a tangy drink it adds a hint of sweetness to a cocktail.
I am in love with the bubbles and bobbing cranberries that make this drink festive and fun. The St. Germain liquor can be used for other drinks. I bought mine from Bev Mo. What was amazing about this purchase was that for the same price as the liquor alone, I bought the gift set that came with a stir stick and carafe. The St. Germain carafe has directions for their signature drink. I thought it would be fun to play off of those simple ingredients that help to create the tangy, yet sweet flavors of this Christmas Cranberry Spritzer.
What is ultimately fantastic about this little drink is that it can be served over ice or in a champagne glass. A wonderful excuse to use your barware for the holidays. My champagne glasses have not been used enough in my 10 years of marriage… and my cocktail glasses have been passed down to me from my grandmother {the perfect reason to use more often}. I plan on making this drink for a couple special occasions, as well as, using it as a bubbly way to ring in the New Year! I hope that you try it and enjoy this little concoction as much as I do! I even was able to steer Shane away from his favorite beer to enjoy a little cheers with me!
Christmas Cranberry Spritzer
Ingredients
- 2 cups of sparkling wine or champagne {Brut works best for this recipe}
- 1 cup of club soda
- 1/2 cup Cranberry Juice {I used Ocean Spray Cranberry Cocktail}
- 1 cup St. Germain Liqueur
- 1/2 cup Skyy Infusions Blood Orange Vodka
- Ice
- Cranberries
Instructions
- Pop the sparkling wine and set aside.
- Place a carafe/pitcher on the counter fitted with a stir stick.
- Pour in the carafe the cranberry juice
- Add in the St. Germain and Vodka
- Pour in the club soda and sparkling wine.
- Slowly stir the contents with a stir stick.
- Pour the drink into a small cocktail class filled with 1/4 cup crushed ice.
- Stir again.
- Top with fresh cranberries.
