:: Water Polo ::
If you asked me what water polo was as a high school senior, I wouldn’t have had the slightest clue. Forward to my freshman year of college, and I lived next door to the boy’s water polo building. These boys became my friends through college and their connection is how I met Shane. He played as a collegiate as well as reffing and plays to this day. We are continuing the experience with Mason.

With summer just around the corner, I thought it was high time that I look into some summer activities for the kids. We have been participating in the SET Water Polo program for the past two summers. It is an amazing program and is one of the largest programs in Southern California. Splash ball is the introductory program for kids starting at the age of four.
The kiddos learn to pass the ball and eggbeater in a shallow pool. They are able to stand and touch the bottom as needed. The main focus at this level is to get kids comfortable in the water all while playing with a water polo ball. The instructors are amazing and patient with the small athletes. They teach them the fundamentals of the game all while having fun in the water.
SET Splash Ball is just the beginning of the water polo developmental programs. As the kids mature in age and ability they progress into Water Polo and Junior Water Polo. The SET Program also offers water safety and swim classes starting as early as 6 months.

I know in the summer, I like to keep a flexible schedule {beach days, pool days, and pajama days}. With SET it is not a huge commitment at a young age and their programs are continuous.
While Mason and Madeline are young, we are trying to find the right fit for their personalities. Water polo has been one of Mason’s favorite sports to play and they offer it year around. So the next time you are looking for a new experience in a sport in which your child can grow in, check out SET Water Polo.
