Butter Cream Frosting

Rich and delicious butter cream frosting.

Ingredients

  • 7 cups powder sugar sifted
  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk I find 2% works just fine, too
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  • Place butter in the bowl of a mixer.
  • Mix butter until smooth.
  • Add first 3 cups of sugar and blend.
  • Add 1/4 cup milk and blend.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Add 4 cups of sugar and blend.
  • Add last 1/4 cup of milk and blend.

Notes

I like to color my frosting when it is a theme or holiday. Add the coloring in at the end. I recommend a little at a time... then blend. Enjoy this wonderful recipe! This can always be combined with a boxed cupcake mix when in a hurry and it still will taste homemade!
