Light, airy & sweet... this maple cream cheese whipped frosting is the perfect topping to your favorite fall treat!
Author: Simply Happenstance

Ingredients

  • 1 8 ounce package softened cream cheese {I used the Philadelphia brand}
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon pure maple extract*
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream {very cold}

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, beat heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form {this usually takes a few minutes}; set aside. {Tip: Before starting, put your mixing bowl into the freezer for several minutes. It will lessen the time it takes to form the stiff peaks.}
  • In a large bowl combine softened cream cheese, sugar, salt and maple flavoring. Beat until creamy and smooth. Gently fold in whipped cream with a rubber spatula.

Notes

Immediately use on your treats, or store in the refrigerator {it keeps well for 2-3 days}.
*If you love a heavier maple flavoring, simply increase the amount used in the recipe from 3/4 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon.
Enjoy!
